Overview of Webhooks and Zapier
A Webhook is a custom way for an application to deliver real-time information to other platforms. Prism has the capability to integrate with hundreds of other platforms via Webhooks, which you can install yourself at any time.
Apps like Zapier allow you to build out if/then statements based on updates in Prism to trigger an action in another application. For example, you might create a trigger in Zapier to say if an Event in Prism is confirmed, then send a slack message to my team including details for the Run of Show, the location, and the Artists.
Below is a list of Data points that can be sent from Prism to another application:
Organization Name
Event Owner
Event Name
Event URL
Event Dates
Event Status (Hold, Confirmed, In Settlement, Settled)
Currency
Venue Name
Stages
Venue City, State, Country
Ticket scaling (Tier name, Allotment, Price, Estimated Sold, Sold, Comps, Kills)
Talent info (Name and if the artist is Headliner or Support)
Deal Status
Deal Notes
Additional Dates (Announce, Pre Sale, On Sale)
Run of Show (Name and Date/Time)
Tour Name
Renter Name (for Rental Events)
Renter Company (for Rental Events)
How to Create/Install a Webhook
Note that the following documentation may change as Zapier changes their app, for the most up to date documentation on creating Zaps in Zapier, check out their quick start guide.
Go to Zapier.com and login or create an account
Click on "Create a Zap"
The Trigger will be a "Webhooks by Zapier" type
In the Event section, select "Catch Hook"
Copy the hook URL in the "Test Trigger" section
In Prism, set up the Webhook. Go to Settings > Web Integrations tab and click "Add Webhook." You will then name your webhook, select a trigger action (Event Added, Updated, Confirmed, Unconfirmed, or Deleted), and then paste the hook URL from Zapier.
Click on "Test" in Prism to establish a connection with Zapier. Click the Test button in Zapier and if Zapier reports that it "found a request" the test was successful.
Now that the trigger has been built and tested, you can add an action in Zapier. Select which app to push an action to and follow the steps on Zapier to configure the action. You can choose which information from Prism events should be pulled from Prism at the time of the action during this step such as Event Name, Event Date, Venue Name, etc.
Once completed, you can test the webhook before activating your Zap!
Once the Zap is activated in Zapier, any time the Trigger action happens in Prism, data will be pushed to the app that you configured.
